COVID-19

COVID-19 Safety Plan

Updated February 1, 2022

*Unfortunately, adult classes are paused due to government restrictions.
And all of our other protocols listed below stay as is.

*COVID-19 protocols will be in place as per the Government of BC recommendations.

As we continue to navigate through these difficult and unprecedented times it is important we are mindful of the protocols set out for us by Worksafe BC and our local health officials.

We will continue to monitor and implement the local, provincial and federal recommendations as they are announced and make any necessary changes. I take great pride in Kelowna Dance and how it operates. I would like to highlight the policies we have in place to help our dance families stay healthy and safe:

*Mandatory masks for anyone 12 +

*As parents approach the Studio we recommend masks to be worn, especially if you are visiting outside the Studio with others.

*As the weather is changing please be on time picking up your dancer. We have been prompt with dismissal to allow time to wash the floors between classes, disinfect the barres etc.

*Smaller class sizes.

*OUR TVs WILL BE OFF AND OUR LOBBY WILL BE CLOSED: We are asking all parents/guardians to drop off their Dancer, and either wait in their car or drop off and pick up after class. Closing down the lobby room will eliminate group gatherings and keep our numbers down.

*Unfortunately, at this time dancers are not permitted into the building early and are not able to leave late.

*Our water cooler is temporarily CLOSED. Please make sure your child brings their own filled non-spillable container that has their name on it.

*Before class students will line up outside. The space out front of the studio will be marked with pylons. Once the Instructor is ready for students to enter the Studio, Students will receive their hand sanitizer and will be allowed in the Studio. Studio boxes have been measured out 7.5 x 7.5.

*Please do not send your dancer to the studio with anything other than their dance shoes and water bottle. No cell phones, dance bags or snacks. Hair must stay in a bun if they have Ballet that day. There cannot be any coming and goings from the classroom.

*We will be adjusting many things in our classroom to avoid contact. Students will not be permitted to hold hands, high five, or touch each other in any way. We will also ensure that they are not in close proximity to each other. If you can please remind your child to keep to themselves, they all love to hug each other.

*We have hand sanitizers in each classroom, hallway, and front desk. Students will be asked to use it upon arrival and as they leave.

*Do not bring your child to class if they are coughing, sneezing, have a fever, stomach ache, body aches, sore throat, chest congestion, diarrhea, vomiting, or any other illness. They will be sent home immediately.

*Do not bring your child to class if a family member is ill with any of the above symptoms.

*No toys from home.

*Don’t break any formal quarantine/government restrictions.

*Encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their arm not in their hand and to not touch other children or their teacher.

*Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 or has been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 and has been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers and interior health.

Thank you for your attention and dedication to making Kelowna Dance a safe place to be.
